Safety and deep sleep

High safety leads to deep sleep

People can sleep deeply if they feel safe

As I first mentioned about safety, I think that the essence of the job of an inn is “whether customers can sleep safely”.

We can sleep well because it is safe. Amenity and staff quality are like branches and leaves from the essence.

And the word “safe” in “whether customers can sleep safely” includes the meaning of cleanliness and quietness. Based on that, I will explain safety and deep sleep first.

People can relax and sleep deeply if they think it is safe.

As can be said in everyday life, if we are worried about the future, have trouble with our relationships, or feel uneasy about something, we will not be able to feel “safe” and will not be able to sleep deeply.

If we feel that our future and life are safe and secure, we will be able to sleep deeply in a relaxed state of mind and body.

Unconscious danger detection ability

What does it mean to make customers feel relaxed when staying at an inn?

Although it is a material matter, it is important not to create a place in the guest room where customers can feel dangerous.

People are unconsciously judging whether it is a dangerous place.

For example, if we have a kitchen knife on the table, we will not be able to eat calmly, or we will be unconsciously looking at a dangerous spot where there is something with a sharp tip (ex. a broken tree branch).

Since ancient people lived in a more dangerous environment than modern people, they seemed to have higher ability to detect danger. On the other hand, what about us today, especially Japanese people?

Wouldn’t it be easy to walk outside without feeling dangerous in daily life?

I think the fact that the ability to detect danger is low is unavoidable in modern times.

However, it is a problem that the staff does not know where customers are unconsciously determined to be dangerous in the guest room.

Check dangerous place consciously

It is necessary to check daily whether there is a dangerous place consciously.

For example, if the area of our feet, such as the aisle of a guest room, becomes narrow, we may hit our feet somewhere.

In that case, please reduce the equipment on our feet and give priority to safety.

In addition, the staff understands that safety is important, so the customer can feel secure through the staff, which has a positive impact on the staff’s evaluation.

Point

□ Customers are unconsciously judging the dangerous spot in the guest room.

□ The staff should consciously check the danger spots in the guest room every day.
